Now that you mention it, I remember it wasn't the suction cup thingee I was having a problem with. It was the glue on the little plastic disc that I had to stick to the dashboard that kept failing. The disc would pop off the dash and the whole thing would go tumbling. I never had a problem with the suction cup part, so when I got the bean bag stand, I had no more problems with it...

I couldn't get the disc to stick to the dash in the truck because the previous owner ArmorAll'd it before she turned the truck over to us. I finally resorted to a different double-sided tape and thorough cleaning with alcohol to solve the problem.

I've found if you lick the suction cup before sticking it to the disc it adheres much better...

Good morning all. Just a quick stop by before staring the day. Lots of work to do. Got lucky last night. Big storms left all my trees standing. Others in the neighborhood are not quite so lucky.

YAYAY to Cam and Dad, boo to long hours. :( Sorry, feeling your pain, and I've got 2 munchkins to break up the monotony. Sometimes an adult convo would be nice.

Yes, yes it would. Even when hubby is home, we don't talk much because he falls asleep on the couch. When he gets the rare Sunday off, we have fun though.:)

Use 'em as a layer of high tech bricks to raise the "Sookie-proof" fence.

LOL I have a few 40Mb full sized drives that are pretty much the same size as house bricks, not only were they very expensive, I remember when I bought the first one I thought, "Well there is no way I am ever going to fill this" :-)

Sookie is not giving up the escape route, she is a credit to the Stalag Luft III escape committee

It seems to be heat-related - suction cup sitting in the sun and the little bit of air that's still there expands as it heats until the weight gets to be too much. In the shade, on cloudy days, or in Spring or Fall, it's not too bad.

What really drives me up a wall is that nobody sells just the little circular glue thingies. In the stores around here, the glue thingie is pre-attached to the plastic disc, which also includes a new suction cup stand. So, when the glue gives out I have to buy the whole thing (or super glue the old one to the dashboard, which I'm not to sure I want to do).

After my second one lost it's stickiness, I was trying to figure out how to stick the suction cup to the windshield in a way that I wouldn't get pulled over and ticketed when I discovered the bean bag stand, so I tried that instead and have been happy with it since.

I was going to admit that I also lick the disc before putting it on the base, but after Puddles' post, I'm not sure I want to admit to it now...

Ah . . . Like the Title Fairy then!

For which the unskewered are profoundly appreciative . . .

Should I be worried about having just said that?

Electrify it :-)

Seriously I don't know. I still can't see how she managed it, we have been keeping a discrete eye out and so far she has shown no inclination to do it again.

We may have to set the video camera up if it does happen again.

My sister's miniature dachshund was scaling a 3 foot fence (inside). She added a second one and he was still able to scale it. She couldn't figure it out. She finally set up a web cam so she could watch him from work and saw him work his way over it. :D Dogs are really ingenious when they want to be.

Oh, and I just discovered how to manage my DVR via my iPad. YAY. I can schedule recordings from anywhere.

It's the little things....
