just get a small camera case with a belt hook or loop, I sometimes use the phone holder on my Black Rapid RS5 straps to hold 2 batteries if I don't have the bag with me

If you can't give a straight answer, don't waste my time and don't insult my intelligence with your rubbish. I have a camera bag, too, but I'm not interested in having to dig for small items like batteries and filters, nor do airlines want loose batteries rattling around in a bag.

Thanks for your wisdom.

Are you looking for a solution for travel or for carrying them on your body while shooting?

I use ThinkTank gear and all of the backpacks and rollers have zippered pockets inside of the bag that are perfect for filters, batteries, cold shoe adapters, gels, etc.

If you want someting while shooting, maybe an R-Strap RS-5? I have one and it has a cell phone compartment in the strap that easily holds a couple of batteries.

I think you'll find it was a straight answer.
That's what camera bags are for and especially ones that have several pockets.
If you already have a camera bag, what is the problem with using that?

...nor do airlines want loose batteries rattling around in a bag...

Say what? This makes absolutely no sense.

I (and many others I'd suspect) have flown plenty of times with camera gear in a bag that usually goes around my waist.
It usually has lenses, loose memory cards, AA batteries, 4 BP-511's plus a whole heap of other loose stuff.
I've never had cabin crew say to me "Excuse me sir, you cant fly - you have 4 loose batteries in your camera bag."

Think about some of the loose stuff that women carry in their handbags - whats the difference.

I have a gripped 30D so my camera uses AA batteries and I carry the spares in this caddy:

This is the type of small case I was talking about, carries 3 batteries with enough room for memory cards as well.

How long are your outings that one full battery won't get you through? I can shoot 20+ homes before I need to change my battery for my 50D. With that said, if I do go out and my battery is low, I just put a backup in my pocket. They are small. If I'm going out for a week (camping, for example) then I bring my bag and keep the backups in there. Any time I am away from a power source to recharge the battery for long periods of time, I always have my bag with me. Are you away from your bag and a power source for long periods of time? Sorry, I'm just trying to understand your situation better, not trying to be rude. I would just assume that most are near a power source or have their bag with them. I guess you could always make sure you start with a fresh battery, that should get you through a few days easily. If not, you may need some new batteries.

Ducati Edition?!?!?! I WANT. googling now..

I have 6 batteries. When I'm degripped and light, I shove an extra battery in my RS strap pocket.

If I'm flying, I have my pelican roller carry on bag and there's a compartment to put 5-6 of them in there.

Along with having one in my camera and 2 in my grip.
