They have been discontinued, the new sandisks are faster. These are only 45mbs write speed. Don't buy the ebay fakes.

I use the little plastic boxes from Staples for my 5D2 and 7D batteries, the smallest carries 2. And I use a ziploc bag for AA's.

If you can find them . . . .They seem to have reverted to metal. I'm glad I had a bunch of the plastic ones saved.

Those will also do nicely for the (slightly smaller) BP511s the 50D uses. Sucrets boxes were too small for the LP-E6s of the 7D/5D2.

Staples is probably going to do away with those sometime. Disappointing. I like those boxes. Only cost $2.

And thanks again for the plastic cases, Jon. I still have my 40D so those batteries are in those boxes you gave me.

Office Depot stocks them too. They're also available in Europe.

If you're just carrying 1 battery or 2, why not just your pocket/purse?

It's always nice to have the battery in something that you can set aside or know it's where the batteries are. The little box is just colorful and large enough you can store it correctly, without losing charge or having it touch anything metal.

Sandisk used to give away memory cases with their CF cards (probably 2 or so years ago)
2 Batteries will slide in, but will not fold over and zip up
I've been using 2 of these to carry batteries since then - they solidly stay in place, contacts are tucked in and safe from anything else

Looks like this (external link)

I'll post pics of my actual case with batteries when I get a chance

That makes them in use, and not spares!

I use these 2 x tamrac MXS5367 for my wedding day storage of batteries and flash cards. They have belt loops on the back and are very hard wearing..:):)

I use one of my wife's Victoria Secrets bras....

Now that I have your undivided attention:

I would never go out with only the battery in my camera. Murphy's law of photography states, "The possibility of a piece of gear failing is in a direct relationship to the non-availability of a replacement item and in an indirect relationship to the availablity of the replacement item."

I usually carry one extra BP-511 battery for each camera in the top pocket of my photo vest while on a outing. I have never run out of juice, although have sometimes used battery #2 for either camera I carry.

I additionally have these batteries in an old small pouch which once housed a tiny tape recorder which has since died. The pouch might be over kill but, since I have it and it weighs next to nothing, why not use it? I have also numbered my batteries to keep track of which are charged and which might have been used.

My Canon batteries came with a plastic plate which protects the contacts (and I assume may avoid errant discharge if a metal object comes in contact with the battery). My 3rd party batteries were not supplied with such plates, however, since I have an OEM Canon battery (and thus a plate) for each of my several DSLR cameras; I always have a plate for the spare battery whether it be OEM or 3rd party. BTW: I have noticed no difference in life beten Canon and 3rd party batteries.

If I am on an extended trip, especially, if I am not sure of charging availability, I carry several batteries in one of the pockets of my camera bag.

In reply to the "that's what bags are for" comment. I only use my camera bags for travel and for storage. I seldom if ever use a camera bag when actually shooting. I shoot with a camera vest and always carry a pair of cameras (two lenses) and sometimes have a third lens in a pouch in one of my pockets. I use the other pockets for essentials like flash, memory cards, filters, etc. IMO, "That's what vests are made for!"

Mikey, if I wore that, I'd look ridiculous! People will really think I'm a geek! ;) Oh, I am. :)

Actually, I often at "Back to School" sales buy up all the good pencil pouches and use them for everything from storing cords to organizing batteries. Those $1 pouches are zippered and some are clear. I organize a lot of my electronic equipment cords with them.
