Cloning and burning. It's good to look for this stuff when you frame your shot initially. Try placing the strobe higher or to the side more or have them turn their heads different directions until the glare goes away.

Angle of incidence = angle of reflection

Positions your lights (or your subject) so that the light does not bounce straight into the camera.

odd, the marketing person is complaining also about the left side shadow.... WTH!... she expected a flat photo from a point and shoot camera or what

While I personally think the photo is okay, I may have gone with a paramount light set up over Rembrandt as the photo to submit. To me rembrandts work better with a more serious look on the subject. But in the end it's whatever makes your client happy.

That's the problem with dealing with non-photogs. They have no idea about what you went through to get that lighting effect or how bad it would look if you hadn't.

1Dx - 5DIII - 40D - Canon 24-70LII, 100L macro, 135L, 16-35L, 70-200 f4 and 100-400L lenses

- "Very good" is the enemy of "great." Sometimes we confuse the two.

Not to defend the marketing person. But sometimes flat is just what they want as headshots are often printed small, in black and white, with low resolution resulting in a contrasty image.

Like this photo still creates shadows, but it's more of a paramount lighting that fits the mood. Also, had he been wearing glasses, there wouldn't be glare as the light is at a higher angle. Don't mind my cheesy logo. Still putzing with that.
