These are from a recent trip to a relative's house out to west Texas. The Scissor-tailed Flycatchers were nesting again in the same Mesquite tree as last year. It was difficult to get the correct exposure because the perch was in partial light and shade. Taken with the 7D and 600 f4 L.
Thanks for looking.

Hey you, look at me!!

Is this my good side?

Or...do you like my left side better?

You got some exceptional habitat shots Brad... the detail and light is very nice and I think that first shot is a marvelous composition.

Great shots :) That's one impressive tail, i don't think it would aid in catching flies though. The first shot is truly excellent.

Great stuff Brad. #1 is the money shot, beautiful.

I'm very envious, I'd love to get close to one of these birds someday.

Thanks Cameron, I don't think it helps to catch flies either unless they could fly backwards.

Thanks Sharon, If you ever head into Texas during the summer months keep your eyes peeled on the utility poles/lines and fence lines, they're everywhere.

Many thanks Kenn, I was hoping they would turn out alright given the amount of time I spent out there taking the shots.

Thanks Steve, I wish the SS was a bit faster in the first shot to freeze the wings but i'm happy with the results. Like i mentioned above to Sharon, If you ever come to Texas in the summer keep your eyes peeled on the utility poles and fence lines.
