Canon 5DII KIT Buyers: Question

Those of you who bought the 5DII Kit and received a SOFT copy of the 24-105, what did you do?

1) Send the 24-105 to Canon Service?
2) Send only the 24-105 back to the place of purchase? (Can this be done?)
3) Send the entire kit back to the place of purchase?
4) Sell the 24-105?

I didn't realize there was some type of problem with "soft" 24-105's. Assuming I bought the kit with the intention of keeping the lens I'd just send it to Canon.

The first option would be to micro adjust the lens, before sending anything anywhere.

Ditto. I feel that many soft lens issues are simply a lens not quite focused and MFA tunes them right in.

If the MA doesn't solve the problem, I would send the body and the lens to Canon for a recalibration. Howver, you should post some photos here with the EXIF info of each, as soft focus can be the result of a number of issues that have to do with shutter speed and focal length, etc.
