It saddened me to find out that Garry Shider, founding member and the glue that held together the P-Funk family died of cancer today. From back in the days of The Mothership until the present, Garry was always a class act who appreciated all of us who helped bring the world a bit closer through music and images.

R.I.P., Garry. You will long be remembered and never can be replaced.

I hoped you would show one of your photos of Garry, Tim.

I know that P-Funk will continue but few realize how important Garry was on stage. He was the ringmaster that connected all the revolving cast of characters to the mother groove. If not for his work with Kramer Guitars years ago, there might not have been the Eddie Van Halen sound. Starchild had mad skillz that didn't need him to broadcast them.

I will be seeing P-Funk at least once, maybe twice in the coming weeks and it just won't be the same.
