 I wish I could do that...

The 70-200 f/4 L IS or 100-400 L would do well if you can spend that much. Note I went with the 300mm f/4 L IS and a 1.4x TC.

Have you ever used the f/2.8 version?

No, and its probably a good thing. My wallet hates this hobby enough as it is. :p

Many people claim it is one of the best, if not the best Canon lens made.

Ah, lol. Nope, I'm not a fan of the 70-200 series. The range doesn't do anything for me. Too short for wildlife and too long for general purpose. The only one I've ever used is a friend's friend's f/4 non-IS version.

I have used the magic drainpipe a lot though (80-200 2.8 L) and enjoyed it quite a bit. Probably because of the nostalgia more than anything...

Its been great, when iv been able to use it lol. Been doing some weddings lately, which iv enjoyed but on top of the day job, you know how it is... not enough time in the world lol!

I was really contemplating swtiching out for the tokina 11-16 for ages... but the canon does really well especially for CA and flare.

I really liked that lens, I would've kept it if it was compatible with the 5DMK2. I was going to suggest 70-200 F4L IS but since your doing weddings it might be a bad choice for you. But for landscape and portraits, it's amazing. It's lighter and very sharp. My 24-70 couldn't keep up.

Yea, the f/2.8 would be nice, but i held the f/4 version recently and he weight is so much better lol... i prefer the idea of lugging that arond rather than the 2.8 lol

Judging by your current setup which is on the light side (as in weight)....a 70-200 F4 IS would fit nicely.
