Last weekend took a road trip up to Riggins to do a little fishing, Little salmon was way too high but buddy did manage to a catch a nice one---maybe 12 lbs

came back by way of Cascade and about 8k cfs coming out of the dam--near record levels The rooster tail is 3 or 4 stories high

NF Payette was cranking and a film crew was filming a crew and I stopped along the way for a few shots
for those who don't know, the North Fork Payette is a solid class V river at normal flow, here the flow was 4 or 5x normal

My son and I put in on the Main Payette a much milder section. It was pumping at 14k cfs which is very high and still very big for me--a 50+ bald fat guy---enough that I was pretty gripped.

my teenage son on the other hand was much more relaxed

Nice shots; it's been over a decade since I've been to/through Riggins....that's some serious water goin' on there!

I think you may have done the best job of capturing lost sanity that I've seen in a while...:D

Awesome shots there Sidnye !!! And yup, that is some serious flow !!!!!

I whitewater kayak over here in Marlborough, N.Z. but am only paddling class 3-4 stuff, so I can appreciate the size of water in your shots and video. The video footage is some of the best I've seen. And very cool footage from the vehicle driving parallel to the boaters ....... very unique angle.

Well done.

Matt.

Wow! That is some big water. It's hard to capture the magnitude in stills. The video really shows it. I also kayak and shoot lots of whitewater. Great stuff.

Too funny. I was just there not that long ago. I did that drive the first weekend of June right after all the rain. Looks like things are still as flooded as they were when I was there.
