one of the guys that I work with showed me this a couple of weeks ago, really cool and it has a couple of places in NZ. I wonder how long it's going to take to do the world?

Yes that is really cool, found it the other day and I noticed in our national tv news that they have begun to use this in the news. For example there was a segment last night about the London bombings and they used earth.google to zoom into the area where the suspects where arrested.

Not at very high res though, however I managed to locate my works old building, the new one wasn't build when the photos were taken though :)

Its a massivly powerful resource though, especialy as the resolution increases, and they add more and more coverage.

Looks like we may buy a copy of it at work. We looked at the Beta version a year or so ago and it was pretty damn slow and clunky. This is much nicer and being able to load your own GIS data into it will be a great reporting tool.

Pity some of the image tiles are way the heck out of line. Hopefully these things will be slowly fixed.
