An Engagement Ceremony

Here are some shots from a Sikh Engagement Ceremony. Te ceremony is in 2 parts. The groom to be has his engagement, and then the bride to be has her engagement.

The family aspect of the wedding is key here, where the in-laws are the ones "doing" the engaging. The ceremony effectively says this person is bethroed to our family.

Anyway, enough gumpf! Here are some pictures from the groom's engagement, with more over on the blog!

Other than the picture of the man with the headscarf, there doesn't seem to be any points of interest in these shots.
The watch pic is ruined by the flare reflection on the face of the watch, and in any case, there is no connection with the watch and any event.

Thank you for your feedback.

I like the flare on the watch as only the hour hand is visible: Cometh the hour, cometh the man - maybe a bit too abstract.

The flag is significant in the sikh religion - I should have explained this!
