As I am new to the Forum I will Introduce myself. I am 67 Retired and have just started in Photography. My choice of subjects are Aircraft and Car shows. I have A Conon XT and Sigma 28-300 lens. Now for the Help part is anyone using the op/tech dual harness?
I have Medical issues that wearing A neck strap is very uncomfortible.
I thank you for reading Photofun42 :)

Welcome to the forum. Can't help with the harness as I've never tried one. They look like they would alleviate neck stress though. I prefer a hand strap though especially if shooting with only one camera. Check out this.

Have not owned the Harness, I do have their Dual Camera strap, and a tripod strap / Carrier as well. They tend to make really 'cushion-ey' and long lasting gear. Another option that can be used at your pleasure, is an actual monopod. Not one of those that can emulate a telephone pole, but there are quite a few good ones for very little money, that can work from anything of a walking/hiking stick, to an excellent provider of stability for the camera (at the cost of almost no extra weight!). A Camera on a Monopod can be carried in one's arm, back, well it changes the dynamics entirely.

Just my two cents, and welcome to the world of photography!! There is no substitute for passion. The rest, is just dollars and opinions. :)

You might also try putting a shoulder through the strap and wearing it bandoleer style. Takes the pressure off of your neck and you can rotate the camera under your arm above the hip for walkaround which is more comfortable than on your chest anyway.

(Someone posing with their OpTech Harness - Not my pic!) http://farm4.static.flickr.com …3586424764_f1a946354c.jpg (external link)

I once carried a camera for hiking like the photo in the link (had to walk a ton in order to reach an old closed up mine entrance). And the back LCD of the camera, and Grip, had scratched and almost literally grooved due to my bag belt.

Though I think for the uses you are considering, it is perfectly reasonable to just have it hanging like that, for the purpose of weight re-distribution.

The only other variant that I found, I was not so amused to see (looks like a modded version of a regular shoulder holster for firearms)though it might work as well: http://www.image-acquire.com …dual-deluxe-camera-strap/ (external link)
