Thanks, bsiegler! These definitely have some contrast added, yes. Here's a before and after showing SOOC and after LR edits (Just LR on this, nothing fancy in photoshop). Besides the obvious crop and upright adjustments (Did not bring a tripod, so I was at the mercy of solid objects for camera placement and orientation), the edits went something like this:
> Warmed the image up quite a bit (+1900K) (I always shoot RAW, which has led to a terrible habit of ignoring in-camera WB and making drastic changes later) and added a bit of magenta tint (+4)
> Increased the contrast in the clouds by pulling back the midtones and highlights and pushing the whites a bit.
> Lifted the shadows, but dropped the blacks to maintain depth.
> +10 each on vibrance and saturation (I tend to like pretty strong colors)
> Dropped the saturation and luminance of the blues, which had the strongest effect on the clouds and the water. Decreased saturation made them both more color-neutral, and decreasing the luminance added a bit to the drama in the clouds.
> Upped the luminance and saturation of the oranges, which made the window lights pop a bit more.
And there you have it! Hope that helps a bit
