In my quest for a sling, I'm trying to weigh the potential points of failure on the various straps out there. I did a Google search for ConnectR-2 failure and luckily didn't find a heck of a lot except for this from a year ago:

"The problem seems to be the cap head screw that goes into the top of the carabiner snap-link. The screw had backed itself all the way out and eventually let go. This was under normal shooting conditions after about 3 shooting assignments. Two track meets and three days of shooting on east coast. Solved the problem by adding one drop of Blue Lock-tite screw locker to the threads of the cap head screw and then tightening with my Leatherman pliers tool. This is just my humble opinion, but I think the threads on that bolt are really short."

I'm guessing maybe someone didn't apply Loctite at the factory on a few units, like what happened with Luma Loop's Chicago screw.

I hope the lack of search results indicates this was a very rare failure.

I wish I could design my own strap because I see elements I like on every strap out there along with elements that concern me.

Blackrapid's history is full of things they forgot and their initial product launch was a fiasco of the first order. They don't do the details well and it's not just an isolated incident.

If you want a sling style strap, look at Luma Loop instead.
