Does anyone make a case for three Canon 580 flash units and some associated wireless triggers, etc...? Or is a Pelican case w/Pick N Pluck foam the best solution?

I'm looking at the Pelican 1490 case.
http://www.pelican.com/cases_detail.php?Case=1490 (external link)

But I'm not sure if it's big enough. I can't find measurements for a 580exII that's folded flat. (mine is at work)

Approximate dimensions of 580exII folded flat: 7.5" x 3" x 2.75"

I hope this helps

I also have 3 flashes I carry

I use a toolbox to carry my flashes and battery packs. Not sure of the model I will post pics if anyone cares to see em.

I also use a stanley fatmax 4-1 mobile workstation (external link) (the top portion is where I store them, with the PW etc. in the top tray). I can post pics of this also if anyone cares to see.

I hold my 2 580exII's, 2 Stofen bounces, ST-E2, battery charger and extra batterys in the Lowepro Nova 170 AW. I think I could definitly get a third flash in there too without a problem. I recieved this bag for free from B&H with my 5d MK II. I didnt need a camera bag, but then realized how perfect it was. it really seems like it was made for this bag, the height of the bag & demensions are perfect for this flash!! Comes in 4 colors, and is $50 new & $40 used from B&H

Thanks for the measurements CafeRacer808! I like the case suggestions from Franko515 and Dustman, but I'm also still considering a Pelican case. But it doesn't look like they make one that would be the ideal dimensions.

Still researching.... :)

It's hard to find photos of the inside of the cases you're all recommending. Would I dump the flash units into one large space (they rub against each other) or would they be protected in their own padded compartments?

I like the size of the Chimp Cage and the Nova 170 AW, but it's hard to determine if the individual flash units would be protected.

I use my Lowepro Nova 4AW for my lighting stuff. It fits my two speedlights, all my triggers, my Sekonic meter, as well as all my AA batteries, memory cards, camera batteries. My umbrella actually fits nicely in my MiniTrekker (the top pocket) and my lightstand is caseless for now.

I now go on gigs with the Nova and my MiniTrekker and I can fit everything (except the 100-400L and 17-85 ;) ) in without a problem (minus the light stand, that just gets carried seperately)

What do you guys think of this case? (I'm looking at the Model 8 Grab and Go bag, but maybe the original Roll Up Bag that just holds lightstands would be better)

http://www.standbagger.com/ (external link)

I like the fact that you can store your stands, flash units and umbrellas all in one case. The guy in the second video (under the VIDEO tab) says that he even flies with the bad frequently. I would think that the flash units are too exposed for air travel. They could easily get crushed. Thoughts?

It only holds 2 stands and 2 strobes. The 13 holds 3 strobes. But, only 2 stands.

Be great if it was a little bigger to hold 3 stands and 2 softboxes and a beauty ring with 3 strobes.

Adoramas...

It is funny. We want the bag to carry $1600 worth of flashes, $200 worth of stands, $800 worth of PocketWizards, $400 worth of modifiers. But, don't want to spend more then $70 on the bag.. LOL

Another one.

Adorama has a lot of them in the $160 range. give or take $20.
