Hi,

I recently bought a G11 for my sister and brother in-law as a wedding gift to them. My brother-in-law says that the camera cannot be set to RAW on some settings... instead, only the JPEG modes can be selected. Is this true?

I don't have the manual on me. I may download it later to read it. I was hoping someone can provide a quick answer.

Thanks
Nathan

sounds unlikely, though I suppose the auto mode favored by complete beginners might not allow this function?

No RAW in "Auto" mode for the G11. Although, if shooting in "Auto" I doubt one cares much.

No RAW in the Scenes modes either. Also, no RAW in the Low Light mode.

Is there RAW in the macro mode? I'll probably look at the manual tomorrow night for them.

Yes, you can activate macro mode while shooting in RAW.

Yes, provided you are not in Auto, Scenes, or Low Light modes (top dial). Macro is a simple push on the left side of the rear control dial.

When the camera is in idiot mode, rather than manual, Av or Tv, RAW is not an option.
