I`m just wondering if anyone here has this LENS BODY COMBO?

I would like to see sample pictures at 16mm (which is 25.6mm for crop) and 35mm (56mm for crop)

Just need to see f2.8 thin DOF shot and landscape.

If you can direct me to a link, that is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

So these aren't from a 7D. They are from my Xti, which has a similar 1.6x crop sensor. Both at 16mm at f/2.8

Very nice! That is one sharp lens!

I`m debating whether I go for my 5Dc+24-70L combo or 7D+16-35L combo.

I just love the thin DOF of FF , but need a bit faster AF and FPS.

Thanks a bunch! :-)

i would go with a 17-55 if you go with the 7d. even then i would pick a 17-40 v/s a 16-35 on a 7d. Iso will not be an issue on the 7d so f/4 glass works good for about 90% of the time

There are a pile of shots over in the Lens Sample Photo Archive.. https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=411156

lots of discussion about the 16-35.. I'm pretty sure there are several 7D shots.

It may not get him the DOF he's after though...

The similarities end in the size, sorry.

I sold my used 24-70L yesterday and I got a chance to try my buyer`s 7D using my sold 24-70L.

Here is a thin DOF on 7D using 24-70L @f2.8 70mm (No software PP, not sure what the guys setting is on his 7d)

This is actually taken during my 24-70L transaction :-)

The reason I asked about 16-35mm L is the focal length is close to 24-70L when use on a crop body.

I just can`t give up the thin DOF of FF , but looking at the 7D on 24-70L I think the DOF is thin enough for me except I don`t like the focal length on crop.

If you're staying with a 7D, get the 17-55. I've owned the 17-55, 17-40L, 16-35L and 16-35L II and the 17-55 has been by far the best (except for the build quality). But out of the choices you listed there, I'd rather a 5Dc and 24-70L. If you really want to stick with a 7D, get the 17-55!

17-55 from what I heard is a dust magnet~ I already have a dust magnet body, one is enough. :-)

It seems like I might be sticking with the Classic and The Brick.

It's truly a shame the 17-55 has such a reputation as a "dust magnet". It's such a fine lens and such a non-issue that people miss out using the best zoom for a Canon crop.

No? They are both a 1.6x crop and I believe he posted them to demonstrate the FOV the lens would have on a 7d which also utilizes a 1.6x crop sensor.

I agree. I sold my 17-55 when I went full frame, but that lens rocks and the dust thing is way overblown.
