Not the first PW Ive trashed with water, this time my flex attached to an OCE3 cord, fell into a river. Pulled it out, it had been completely submerged. Tapping it, water poured our of its orifices.

Didnt work afterwards, flash would be ttl not e-ttl and would only fire at full power. Pulled batteries and left it in my bag.

Got it home, pulled every inch of it apart (mind you dont lose the multiple springs!) and put a hair-dryer on it until there was no ounce of water remaining.

Fixed,

now works perfectly.

Thank God for screwdrivers.

Congrats on reviving the PW! How the heck are you dropping these in the water? And more than once? Good grief!

If it's ever something that you can't take apart/disassemble, you can always drop it in a bag filled with rice or (even better) desillicant gel.

Luckily, sounds like it's okay!

The previous incident was with my Plus II. A rogue wave hit the unit and filled it with salt water. (thank goodness for the weatherproof design of the eli ranger system)
Didn't work after that.

I took that home, pulled it apart and soaked the PCB overnight in water - completely submerged.

I then pulled it out of the tap-water and saturated it with a rubbing alcohol solution to dissipate the water. Hung it up to dry in the kitchen overnight and next day it was in perfect working order.

never say die LPA :))
