Dark image in P mode

I use a G10. When I take a flash picture using the internal flash in the P mode the image is dark as if the flash did not fire. In the Auto mode the picture is well lit (all other settings the same). Can someone explain to me how to take flash pictures in the P mode?

Can you post an example of a photo that turned out dark? Your ISO setting in P mode may have been too low for the flash to be effective. In Auto mode the camera will select the ISO itself.

Thanks for your prompt reply but I feel like such an idiot :oops: It turns out the ND filter was set on. I remember doing that a couple of weeks ago and obviously forgot to reset it. Now with it off the shots are as I expect, even with an external flash (and I won't go into that sad story).
