85mm 1.8 front focus, should I send in the camera as well?

So I have a couple of weeks old 85mm 1.8 and have determined it front focuses a bit. I've taken 1000+ pictures with it and some a perfectly sharp. But it always seems to front focus when I get an OOF image.

Should I send in my 500D with the lens or just the lenst. I haven't noticed any problems with my other lenses. The sample image is 1/200 with flash, F/1.8.

If your body is fine with other lenses, just the lens.

IIRC Canon adjusts lenses on a camera body known to be accurate (which your appears to be). If they adjust your body there is a CHANCE it might come back worse vs better. In short, if it ain't broke (or appear broke) don't fix it. ;>

My 135 was front focusing and I sent it in twice without the body because my other lenses were working fine. Finally sent it in with the body and it came back perfect and it didn't affect the focus on my other lenses. Try it with just the lens first and if it doesn't solve the problem, send it back with the camera.

It was free, I just sent it by post marked as "customer return" which is free (well the Canon service center paid for the shipping)
