The Cheetah Qbox DOES include a grid. They were discontinued for a small time, but he is offering them again. He is even asking those who purchased one without a grid to contact him. I just purchased mine yesterday. I went with the Qbox mostly from a customer service stand point. I have no idea what Lasolite's service is like, but you'd be hard pressed to find someone who's had a bad experience dealing with Edward from Cheetah. All other things being equal, that in itself was enough to make the difference for me.

... With regards to the Lasolite's mounting, it's definately more solid and stable than the QBox (or eBay knockoff) ball-head unit.....

While I'm no fan of ballheads for this application, it should be pointed out that the QBox24 has a much beefier ballhead than is found eBay generic brackets:

The QBox24 ballhead is actually very strong and has no difficulty holding the softbox and light in any orientation you might wish.

I have the Qbox 24 and the ebay knock off. They both work well. For the money, I have a hard time moving from either of them to the Lastolite product. That's a pretty large jump in $$.

Okay... The dimension is 22 inches on each side... Diagonally, it's 29 inches across...

That's the same size as my first SB, the second one is a bit larger.

How deep is the Lastolite?

From the video on youtube, the QBox24 looks a little deeper.
I'm not sure how much that translate in better light quality.

Hey Mark... I can only vouch for the Lasolite EZBOX 24x24 softbox unit... Construction on the softbox and mounting bracket is very good... It also has dual diffuser panels for softer light distribution... Putting it together is easy, but collapsing it back to its original state can be a bit tedious, initially... After doing it a few times, it's no problem at all... Sample shot below mounted on a mini-boom:

Was there something specific you were looking for?

May I ask which light stand you're using?
