But it's actually worse than that, because there aren't any standards between manufacturers. So if you carefully balanced the load over the center of the ball head, yes, it could probably keep 11 lb. in place, as long as there weren't any outside forces acting on it. But with the load a bit off center, you run into other factors, like torque, that will give you the slipping you're seeing. Jon
