Could just be me but I am not a real big fan of the first shot. Looks more like a glamour shot than a senior portrait. The pose,outfit,shoes..... just arent working for me

I agree it seems more like a glamour shot. I guess girls this age want to look as erotic as they can; just I'm a Father and all ways wanted to shield my daughters on this subject:rolleyes: nice work at any rate

Thanks, and Class of 2010 is gone, being on class of 2011!

Totally understand that some folks would be put off by number one. Less conservative, a little sexy, maybe glamour (If you mean making someone look glamorous), but i don't think I would call it erotic. There is nothing provacative in the pose, as far as I can see. She brought me this outfit, I was pretty sure she wasn't looking for a headshot. Please feel free to tell me how you might shoot this outfit? Always looking for new ideas.

The last shot was done with only the ABR800, 56" moonunit, and 50" shoot-through ring mask. I do love my ringflash and have no regrets about the purchase, but the ringflash effects are not everyone's taste (my wife doesn't care for it either). I like the effects and the clients buy the images, so I am sold.

The phone Idea is not origional, I have seen a few senior photogs use it, and thought this would be a good time to try it. The white balance is a bit red on the image posted, but I did correct it on the images I sold the client.

Haha indeed. I just meant that we're in 2010...not 1910. :D

My seniors work is raising some eyebrows too but they're not my clients so I don't really worry about it. This is how we stand out from the crowd - shooting photos the kids want and get excited about. If anyone wants boring there are PLENTY of photographers still doing that.

I like the series here. #4 does strike me as odd and it caught my attention asap.......would you happen to have a pull back?
