Hi all, the wife and I are spending 3 weeks following the tour. Anyone on here doing the same or have been before and can give me advice/tips I'm all ears.

Cheers

Matt

Choice of lenses depends on how close you will be; anything between 70-200 and fisheye can be useful. Also take a monopod for panning and polarizer (it´s France and it´s summer so it will be sunny).
Use continuous autofocus and manual mode (take one photo of "empty" scene, adjust settings and then use them).
The good spots where to take interesting photos are the refreshment points where the racers get drinks and food.

Oh, and don´t forget the Devil.

Get there early. Roads close maybe 3-6 hours before the race is due to come through.

The caravan will take about an hour to pass, the riders a few seconds :P

Enjoy it!

Thanks for the advice, shutting of the roads meant some early starts and lots of waiting but was all worth it and planning next year. Some of my shots are posted in sports section.

Cheers

Matt
