i had an SVO about 10 years ago, but it was too expensive to find parts for.
im kind of liking the editing techniques on some of them, almost makes them look like they were taken with a 35mm in the 80's.
the style almost reminds me of a photographer from the PNW back in the 60's-70's if im remembering correctly, i forget his name. but his images were of everyday things, nothing spectacular but they connected with people on a certain level.

Thanks guys! The SVO belongs to my dad, only has about 40k miles on it and is just stored away in the garage. The red trains were commonly referred to as "red birds" and are older decommissioned subway cars. The MTA took some of the old red birds and stripped them to the bare shell and dumped them somewhere off the eastern coast of the U.S. to form as an artificial reef, some were converted for shuttles or work trains while some just sit in the train yard rotting away.

I like the first one.. the bus says "fund your college dream" sitting next to a dumpster of steel wheels. I think the irony goes will with the urban/big city theme you have going. Is the one with the stadium in the background HDR? Something looks too bright blue/green in that one. I'd love to see that one processed the same as the others.

Those turbo fours made an amazing sound.
And thanks dap! Pardon my ignorance but what is HDR? I was messing around with the cool and hot colors and went for a more cool, and saturated look. Here's the pic with editing that looks like the rest. and thanks Nmahooch!

All the train photos are from the Corona Yard; and the Kew Gardens station is an L.I.R.R. station.

Basically its 3 shots (underexposed, correctly exposed and overexposed) combined into one image using a program such as photomatix.

I like the railyard the 2nd way you posted it. Great work.

Ohh, okay. I've seen HDR photos, but previously thought they were just meticulously worked on via Photoshop. Thanks for the info and comments!

I really like this series.

Were you going for an under contrasted look? If so, props.

#3 and #4 are my favorites.
