hard rolling case

If you go to your local hardware store you should see a good number of solid cases; brand and models will vary quite a bit depending on your location. There are some good Stanley ones local to us that are much cheaper than the Pelican cases... definitely flimsier, though, but likely adequate.

I am a firm believer in pelican. I've stood on mine at the Long beach grand prix for 4 hours....no problem. Had a big wave wash my pelican about 30 feet away........completely sealed.

Spend the money on a Pelican. It's not that expensive, and it will far outlast the junk like Stanley, etc.

Get the Pelican. I have the 1510 and two other much larger Pelicans. I prefer them over bags. The hard cases keep your equipment neater, protect better, and look fantastic. I am comfortable tossing the hard cases around in ways I would never do with a soft case.

I would recommend plastering your name in big huge letters across the front of the case for many reasons, not the least of which is someone may come looking for you to move it when you stick it somewhere on location.

I wouldnt trust my gear in any other case! Especially if I intended to stand on it!

FWIW I have stood on my 1624 MANY times just in playing around! Never had a problem.

I have a 1510 and a 1620 (different cases, different needs) and regularly use both as a step ladder, and I'm pretty heavy. I actually prefer the latches on BH's HPRC cases (two step), although the weird rib annoys me.

I have the 1510 or really 1511 (padded dividers). Love the case and trust it completely. Mine gets strapped to the bow of the ocean running Zodiac rescue boat full of gear. After two years of constant seawater pounding over it it has never leaked. This is one product I feel I really got more than I paid for.

The hinge pins and screws were showing signs of rust so I called Pelican about it. They sent me a box full of all the stainless steel parts on the case for no charge.

I, too, have a Pelican rolling case (1614 with dividers)... Love it to death... I roll that case on all my shooting events and sessions... One of the best investments I've purchased to store and transport my precious camera gear!!!

Pelican acquired Hardigg. I'm very happy with the 1514. It got banged around pretty good on my last trip. No damage to anything inside. If you watch the Youtube video on testing the case, you'll be amazed.
