I have been tweaking this photo for a couple of days now. Any thoughts on improvements?

Bob

Ok I tossed into photoshop for kicks. You can easily apply more sharpening to the entire bird, burn the highlights in the wings and dodge the face to bring the detail out of the face.

There is a load more detail there waiting to come out.

Here I figured put up or shut up :)

Thanks Gail! greatly appreciate your comments.

Great capture. Maybe a little selective sharpening on the bird and some blur on the background is all I can add.

No big deal Bob you took the shot and that's the important part. It's a heck of a bird!

Yes BUT, you had a good idea with the extra sharpening of the bird and to be honest I have rarely used Dodging or Burning but I think I'll use it a little more often now. I was able to duplicate your thoughts and I am really happy with the results.

BTW, her name I find out is name is Hera and yes...she is quite a bird. Only a juvenile so you know those damn teens...always showing off!!

Great capture! Very impressed that you got the focus right on the eagle's face. Well done.

I find that the two edits posted so far have too much green, though. Both in the background and in the tint. I'd probably try to fix the WB, desaturate the background, adjust levels, and sharpen the eagle. Anything to make that fierce looking face pop.

Here's a quick example:

Yours now has put blue into the feathers?
Seeing Vinces photos, I will certainly leave the C&C to him, he has the proof that he knows whats what in this one!
