I wanted to test my new 1DMk4 body and went shooting local disc golf competition. I have Mk2n but Mk4 is just so much better in many different levels.
If you have never heard of disc golf then maybe these shots does not do much for you but I hope there are few disc golfers around here
I shot only jpgs as I need to update my CS3 to CS4 before I can open those RAW files. These are not really processed at all
C&C welcome

Nice shots. Played a lot of disc golf in years past .... so much so, I burnt myself out on it.
Watched the world championships in Port Arthur, Texas years back. Some guy (Pro) threw that piece of plastic over 700' in the longest drive comp. FREAK!

Noticed a lot of those guys are throwing side arm as opposed to the power grip.

Stopped playing when my employers started random testing ... ha!

That sport is gaining popularity in my area.

Nice shots, they accurately show what is happening.

The sport is getting big in my area. One of my best friends made a deal with me: I'd go disc golfing with him if he'd go golfing with me. We were both terrible at each others sport, but I really enjoyed myself out there.

Few years back I played 3-5 hours every day, last year once a week, this year only once so far.
I wonder how those guys can throw long distaces with great accuracy

I wanted to frame so that the disc is in frame as well. Thats why its easy to understand what is going on. I sold my 400mm lense so I couldnt shoot any close ups just after back hand throw when all the facial muscles are visible

Wonderful captures! Like #5, #6 & #7!

Disk golf is popular in our city. We have several courses and the "middle schools" (students ages 10-13) even have it written into their phy ed curriculum.
