your home owner insurance should cover it like most contents. check with company if special rider is needed.

Pretty much any insurance company should have personal articles insurance.

I'm not sure about repairs, but you can add insurance as scheduled property on your homeowners. The issue becomes value. Lenses are easy since they retain value. Bodies are tougher to determine since they depreciate so quickly.

I asked my State Farm agent and he said as long as its not professional equipment as in a business my gear is covered under my home policy for lost or stolen. If its your business equipment you would need another policy to cover it.

+1 for Farmers Insurance.
I don't think Insurance companies will have a specific play for equipment repairs but they'll probably suggest/refer you to a place they may have worked with in the past or a general company that will do the repairs. That's actually a good question.
