I was at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Flyfest this past Sunday and got few of the old planes doing fly by's. It was a great day for the air show

It was too bad that the Lancaster was having engine problems and didn't fly that day. She is something to see and hear in the sky. For $2000.00 CDN you can go for a 1 hour flight in the Lancaster. Apparently it is quite the pig on fuel.

nice sharp planes! however they look like they are about to stall/start to crash.... id recommend practicing with any moving object (cars being the easiest) with slower shutter speed, such as below 200, maybe 160.

Equipment: Canon PowerShot A650IS (semi retired) and Canon Powershot G10 (primary) and Rebel XT 350D w/18-55mm kit lens and Quanterey 18-200mm-- www.youtube.com/alexander1485 (external link) (has links to some of my pictures on the main page)

Thanks for the C&C

I don't normally shoot planes. I just happened to drive by the airport and saw the event and decided to check it out. It wasn't till after I got home and looked at other propped plane shots here that I realized I should have slowed the shutter down.

So how do you make a jet look like its not stalling ;)

First, sorry, but in the "Share" areas IMAGE POSTING RULES only allow 2 attachments by the OP per thread, OR 8 embedded (linked) images, OR a combination of both totaling 8 per thread. (Maximum 1024 pixels on any side.) You can always just post a link to more, though, or better yet, post a link to a gallery so we don't have to click on each image link.
Some exceptions are group threads, like "Show Me...", "Post your best...", equipment reviews, Tutorials, etc.
You may add a few additional photos if requested, but only in a reply to other member's post and request.

I realized I should have slowed the shutter down.

Too bad. You had some really nice light on the PBY. Some help in post #2 of: Shooting airshows in Manual
