Similar to the other focal length poll going on I though it would also be interesting to see what folks longest lens is.

So basically what is the maximum focal length of your single longest lens.

This does not include multipliers for teleconverters or using the lens on a DSLR, (X Factor)

........but if that factors into your use it may be interesting to hear about.

Are you sitting with just a kit 18-55, or did you kick out for a 600

I've got two decent 300mm lenses, does that mean I have 600mm? :P

./Martin

A 20D with katzeye screen, tons of lenses, a couple of
pods, a flash and some bags. Also some MF cameras,
like a RZ67, Moskva 5 and Agfa Isolette I, II, III :)

Well, I have the 100-400, so I guess that's 600 mm or less, right? ;{)#

I have an FD 600mm f4.5 which, when mounted with the Canon FD-EOS extender, becomes a 756mm lens. Include the crop factor and it is equivalent to 1,209mm.

It is the first time I have ever considered that I might have 'too much' lens.

Have Fun,

Rick

I voted 500mm which is my longest lens..

It works well with T-cons though so a possible 1000mm in glass is available with full AF.. but to be honest.. (and I find this odd too) I've never even tried it yet!
I have used it with the 1.4X a few times for a nice even 700mm @ f/5.6

I use it primarily on the 1D MkII = 650mm with 1.3X "X-Factor"
This puts it really no longer than a 400mm of a 20D/10D/Rebel which with the 1.6X-Factor offers 640mm. There fore the 20D's higher pixel density coupled with my 100-400mm Zoom gives me virtually the same reach.

100-400L

I recently took this picture using this lens, a Phoenix 2x extender and Canon 1.4X extender, which including the 20D's crop factor, gave me an effective focal length of 1,792mm.
