Between the 20D and the 300D I carry 5.5Gb in cards of various sizes. I download to my P2000 (epson) at lunch time so essentially I have a total of 40Gb + 5.5 should I ever need it. I shoot horse events from 8:00am to late afternoon, sometimes 2 days in a row in away-from-home situations.

A 40D, a 30D, some nice glass and a great Shooting Partner.

2 x 2GB+ 1 x 2G MD, 8 x 1GB, several 512/256 (I don't really know how many of them).
Very rarely I use a PDS device but it happens. Usually I have the laptop with me so that's what I use mostly for backups (has a CD/DVD burner built in, if I get a lot of stuff I also do optical backups before returning home).

I have 3 1GB cards, a 2GB MD and a handfull of 512MB cards. I also have my super-dee-duper Epson P-2000 to unload all of my pics at the end of the day. I think I'm set for now. :)

Why wouldn't you just unload them to your PC at the end of the day? Seems like an extra step, and a waste of $500. This device seems more suited to clearing or backing up cards during the shoot, or away from home for an extended time, negating the necessity to buy more cards. Or is that how you use it, and I'm being picky?
