African Bushveld

Thanks for the critique on my B&W school house. I have to admit that I changed the colors a lot on that photo and the original looked a lot like the one you had posted, but wasn't crazy about the stark white and black so changed it up a bit. I'll continue reading. Sorry your camera and great image were stolen. That's a shame, but at least you have this one It looks fascinating....... A far off place. There aren't much critiques going on on this board so I so boldly went and posted on photsig...(yikes) I was amazed at the responses. It's amazing how every opinion is so drastically different, but that they "all" serve to help in some way or another. Thanks again. Great photo.

As you were interested, here is a very small copy of another of the series. At this stage the lioness had decided that it was too hot a day for these games and she wasn't really hungry anyway.

Eland- You are probably right, usless maybe, but at least it's "Something" and not an "Ignored" by 150 viewers photo.....LOL Come on, if you take the time to look, why not comment, right? Like I said, it wasn't bad, you should try it out again, maybe I'll see ya Anyway. You're so luck to have been that close. Do you live in africa?

Giraffes do get pulled down by lions but seldom by a single lion.
Usually a sick or old giraffe is vulnerable. And of course juveniles. This is when lions get killed, by the angry mother's kick.
The giraffe's size is in its favor, and it does have a lethal kick that has finished off many a lion.

This lioness was not hunting. Just being mischievous.
That was the point of this article. She was shoo-ing the giraffe away from the waterhole, all in slow motion as you see. The giraffe cantering just ahead of her, not galloping away in terror.
Moments after this photo was taken she lost interest completely and turned back ..... followed by the giraffe (!) which went back to the waterhole to drink.

I may post some others from this series.
