I've been searching for the B+W 110 (10 stop) ND filter in 77mm, but being as popular as it is, its sold out everywhere. As an alternative, I've been eyeing on the B+W 106 (6 stops) at MaxSaver.

I already have a Marumi CPL. I read that a CPL has an equivalent of 2 stops reduction, and with the B+W 106 added on top of it, would that mean I can just compensate the exposure for 8 stops (or 24 clicks if shutter value is +/- 1/3?)?

I might just pull the trigger on this one, since its *almost* like 10 stops AND its widely available. Thanks.

Unless you need it for an upcoming trip or event, why not order and wait for the product you really want?? Why compromise?

Stacking screw on filters will probably give you some vignetting issues and an increased change for flare. I'd go for the single 10 stop filter. Plus, you would be able to add that to your CPL and get 12 stops of reduction if you wanted or needed it.

Yes...the stops are additive.
