Hi. I want to ask you how much should I charge for a red carpet movie premiere photoshoot. I have NO idea and they contacted me to send them a budget.

The movie premiere is Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, here in Mexico City and this will happen in september.

Also, I want to ask you how many photographs should I be giving to them

Thanks in advance.

Fer...I don't have experience in that type of shoots, but you should consider the number of "stars" attending, as they will surely expect , at least, one good picture of each. Also the time you will devote to it, shooting and post-processing.
As you are being paid for the whole event, of course, this is open to negotiation, but I don't think you should go below $ US 500

Regards

Hi Fer,

Good to hear you have some interesting assignment coming up :D

I'd also estimate the time you will spend shooting and post-producing the event.
On top of that estimate, add a security margin (because it always takes longer than expected :D )
With that time budget, you have to define how much you want to charge for your work.
Don't sell yourself too cheap!!!!

And make a list what additional equipment (flash, flash bracket, video light, maybe lenses) and support (assistant/husband) you might need and if you can get/rent that before the event.

Best regards,
Andy

some cameras, some lenses,
and still a lot of things to learn...
(so post processing examples on my images are welcome :D)

I'd suggest $250/hr with a 3 hour minimum for shooting the event. Anything else is extra. No charge for getting there AT LEAST 1 hour early & checking out the exteriors & interiors, getting to know the security, & bringing your pulse-rate down. ;-)a

Wishing I was in your shoes... sounds thrilling and stressful all at the same time. Take plenty of business cards, you could get a break for another similar job....
