It's long overdue, but since selling off the 40D and getting the 5D2 and 1DIIN, I've had to reconsider my lens selection.
With the 40D, I had a 10-22 EF-S, 24-70 f2.8L, 70-200 f2.8L, and 300 f4L which fit about 99.9% of my shooting needs.
I've sold off the 10-22, which killed me, since that was an amazing lens, and now I just sold the 300, which was probably a good idea, since it was only used once or twice, and sat in the safe since buying it.
So now I'll be listing the 70-200, which is also killing me! This particular sample is about as nice as they come! Just sharp as a razor with unbelievable shots, if I do my part. I'm very hesitant on selling this one. It's seen some honest use, and is as good as new.
The only one I'll be keeping is the bread and butter walk around 24-70.
So now, it's time to rebuild the collection to a usable stable. My thoughts are the following, in order of importance:
The first two on the order form will be a 70-200 f2.8L IS II and a 100 f2.8L macro II. Not sure about the weight of the big IS, but if reports are true, the IQ and 4 stops will be nice to have around.
Next on the list, but only after recovering from the sticker shock of the 70-200 IS II, will be an 85 f1.2
Last on the list will be a 16-35 f2.8 II.
This should provide good range, and if necessary, I can use the 1.4x teleconverter.
Time to shop!
