I was looking back through some old photos, some are nearly 10 years old. They are JPEGs from a point and shoot camera and they seem to have been corrupted in some way. No previews will show and they wont open in any of the ten programs I have tried to view them in.

There are many threads on this board for recovering deleted photos etc from cards. But this is not what I need. I need something that can fix a corrupted file. I have tired a few of the card recovery programs to see what would happen but it does not seem to help at all.

Is there anything that can be done with them ? I read a few things about opening them in a hex editor and modifying thing... but it went far beyond my ability.

I'm on a mac too....

Try this web site -- http://www.artplus.hr/adapps/eng/dpr.htm (external link) -- for software that will recover corrupted image files.

Hi Jack ,

That software is just a recovery software the same as all the other ones that gets deleted or corrupted files off your memory card.

It doesnt fix corrupted files. And it's also for the PC not the Mac.
