on the Cub - yes 300mmf4 + 2xTC, but the biggy is straight 300 mm f4... They ARE REALLY friendly crteatures, there were 7 adult bears + the cub around us.... the closest distance was about 5 meters.... surprisingly other ppl called us BRAVE not STUPID...;)

Great shots, but I wouldn't be in the "Brave" catagory. You said it yourself: There was a cub around. I don't care how "friendly" they seem!!! Of course this doesn't quite rank up there with the Japanese tourist I saw trying to put her 3 year old son on a wild elk in Banff.....but still.....dumb none the less! lol

And this has been a word from your mother!
Now back to our regularly schedualled retorick(sp??)

One more, 300f4 + 1.4 TC, note the catch light from the flash... they blink after the flash...:)
to be honest - these bears see a lot pf ppl on a daily basis, when we started coming closer they simply ran away, that is why there is no garbage around them - we had to follow them to the boundaries of the dump
