I am planning to get a Panosaurus panorama bracket , but my camera and lens is too heavy for that unit. I somehow like Canon G11 (need RAW), but I am also looking for a similar one which is less expensive. Any suggestion? I have Manfrotto303 Pano head but this unit is too big and too heavy when going on trips or hikes.

I too have the Manfrotto 303 but I prefer to leave it and its tripod in the car, and carry an extra lens or two in its place.

I started doing panos hand held in 1974 and now only use the MF303 for indoor shots that need accuracy. Read this post to see what I do and some of my results. I usually take each pano shot at least twice with about 30 % overlap.

And here are a couple I took in Europe last year - hand held, natural lighting, auto focus, auto exposure (OK I did bracket a couple of the church ceiling)
