Well, all things aren't equal (close, but not totally equal). Depends what you want to do with it. The 5D2 has a larger sensor (full frame, more dof and slightly better low-light performance), the 7D has a few more bells and whistles that the 5d doesn't have at all. 60fps, digital level. If your glass is mostly ef-s, and you want to do slow-motion, I'd go with the 7D. If your glass is ef, and you want the wider frame, and don't care about slow-mo, or plan to do a lot of low-light shooting, I'd go with the 5d2.

I am most concerned about the glass issue... i want to go semi wide but am not sure what would be best for that on the 7d

And Kento sorry i didnt mean to offend you with my question.

What do you already have? Are you used to shooting on a crop or a FF? Or are you starting from scratch?

Also this will give you an idea of the 60fps slow motion clips only the 7D is capable of.

Heh - I will admit I do enjoy the 60fps capability. Here's one I tossed together - daughter's kindergarten soccer game turned epic. heheh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2IAcmRz5KE (external link)

But if I'm not going for slow mo, I typically turn to the 5d2 first. Its a tough call.

Tokina 11-16mm, a very very good ultra-wide for a crop that is very reasonably priced for what it can do. Combine the Tokina with a Canon 17-55mm 2.8 IS and you'll be set on a 7D.

Kento how is the video quality on that 17-55 2.8? I think i have seen some photos with that lens but they seemed a bit lacking in contrast.
