I use a manfrotto boom arm for most of my work these days. Its heavy, and annoying at times. But its sturdy and can handle everything I put on it. I'd recommend it for sure

This is relatively lightweight (except the counterweight of course) and reasonably priced so it should be more than enough for a small apollo box and 580. I use it with studio lights and medium sized softboxes, so it should handle a 580/apollo well.

Here it is holding an Elinchrom D-lite4 and 16x22 softbox:

I have this same one and use it with the 580EX II and Qbox 24 or the Westcott Apollo with no problems at all. The counter weight may weight more than the 580EX II and a softbox or just as much, making it a great balance when extended.

Light, composition, shooting technique matter to the end quality most. -Pekka

Thx ill prob buy this one. I just use my normal flash holder correct? Should i get a new one? The one im using now makes my softbox go at a angle and wont hold it straight. Any good ones out the reasonably priced?
