It is nice to see that the distribution of votes is much better this time around. Anyway, I've voted now so thought I'd share some thoughts on a few of the photos.

17 - I really like the delicate exposure and the use of negative space. However, I'm not sure why that stick is in the bottom of the photo.

10 - A great idea and got my vote, but I think it could have been greatly improved with a couple of small changes. I think the photo would have been much more striking if a stainless steel knife had been used - the glint of light would have conveyed the sharpness of the blade.
Two other minor nitpicks - I would have liked to been able to see the point of the knife and a plain backgound would have been better.

11 - Great expression!

17 great photo, the exposure time worked nice with the moving flames. I may have liked the background a bit darker to hide the weber handels, perhaps also a tighter crop. Just my .02. This was my favorite of the field.

3 Great moment captured, the expressions and the water. Nice candid shot.

13 I love wild life photography and this is a nice shot.

Voting closed :)

Congratulations everyone. A stunning set of photos and it's nice to see a fairly even distribution of votes as well.

However, there were three clear favourites:
1st - #17 'Glowing Ashes' by superfly
2nd - #6 'Summer Eve' by G3Owner
3rd - #2 'Marsupial Sunrise' by boutty

Well done all! :D

Remember, contest #29 is advertising. A very challenging topic but I hope one you'll all take part in anyway. Good luck.

BB

Big Congrats to Superfly, G3Owner and Boutty. Well done guys!

I didn't get a chance to vote but #19 gets my distinction, it's a great photo journalistic shot with good comp and did a good job of meeting the topic. Can't believe it didn't get more quotes, quality isn't 100% but I didnt think it mattered.
