Hey guys, I was wondering what are some mics that can be used for the 7D? is it possible if someone can give me a range of all the different mics I can buy at different price ranges?

ANY mic pretty much! Most mics have an XLR output, you can buy XLR to 3.5mm jack cables, so anything you want.

A 'shotgun' condenser mic would be suitable for most things. There are some mics made for DLSR's specifically (look at Rode and Sennheiser) as they come with a hot-shoe mount supplied.

You didn't say what the application is. This is a big topic, you'll want to figure out what your goal is and your budget. For starters many go for an on camera mic that fits in the hot shoe and plugs directly into the camera. A Rode VideoMic fits that bill nicely, about $150.
