The last one is interesting.... it really shows something you something you don't get to see all the time and - from a compositional point of view - has interesting elements.
#2 and #3 are "just another car".
#1 is too much black and "other light". There should be more texture in the landscape, I think.

Was that taken from Morrison area?
I think the sunrise photo is awesome. Really like the blacks and colors. I know some think it looks too black, but I think it is very realistic.
I really love the angle and colors of the car against the black on the second car picture. The first car pic is nice but that second one is real good.
I am not a fan of engine pics but that is geat shot, Nice clear detail.

Maybe correct the horizon in the first?

The car pics look like they could use a little more light, but that's just me I think.

I wouldn't change a thing with this one, the lack of texture in the dark areas adds a little mystery in my opinion and the image is balanced by the very light areas. I get a very warm and cold 'feeling' from the image that compliment each other.

The landscape was taken from Pikes Peak at Devils Playground. We were there to watch the hillclimb race and we had to get up early to get good parking and a spot to watch. The elevation was 12,700 feet and it was very cold. It was taken before sunrise and the colors were real. The far right side of the pic is Colorado Springs.

The car pics were hard because of the dark color of the car but I am satisfied with the way they came out. It took many attempts to get the lighting to work with the curves on the car. The 3/4 shot was two shots merged, one lighting the front, one lighting more of the rear. This was one of my first experiences strobing dark colored cars and there is a tough learning curve.

Thanks for the comments. I have many more pictures from the weekend that I will try and post up.

QUOTED IMAGE

I dont think he clipped the apex and may have turned in too late. Also didnt set up well he turned a bit left. I am assuming it was a FWD car. No need to do the finnish flick :p

were the cars static in the second set?

Don't try to confuse me with the facts, my mind is already made up.

Hmm now that I look at the Red honda pic on my laptop it looks like there is a lot of green in the shadows... I need a better screen.

Anybody with a calibrated monitor think the color looks good?

Very interesting photos, however I would use "fill light" to make it stand out from the black background. And I would also increase vibrance a bit in all 5 photos - this type of photos should look nice first of all, realistic colors are not so important (unless it´s a car that is sold in one color only).
