Here are images of the microadjust I just did with my 11-16 Tokina... I had pretty severe front-focus (like most lenses on my 7D)... +12 fixed it up.

Here is live view result (what it should be):

Very nice overview. I'll be saving up for one in the future. Thank you for taking the time to post this.

Thanks and thanks, but the flamers will probably be back now that this has resurfaced.

Question.. Might be a dumb one? I bought a lens align and I'm trying to MA my 3002.8 with a 2x.. How far from the lens do I set the scale? According to the chart I'm at 98 feet? When I shoot that its so small my depth of field puts the whole scale in focus? I cannot see any front or back issues? Am I reading the sacle wrong?
Thanks for any help
Kurt

Yes, the Lensalign is too small to use at the recomended distances.

Sounds like you are you using the small ruler. If so, you need to step up to the large ruler? Also, do you emboss the photo so you can see the ruler better?

Btw, I used 1/2 the recommended distances. I didn't use the recommended distances because I find theres to much distance to control the variables (i.e for me wind, light etc.); can only do it outside. I did my 500 and 2x at 80+' with no issues, but that's with the large ruler.

Maybe a dumb question or it has been answered somewhere, but if I MA my 400 f/2.8 and then with 1.4XTC and 2XTC, will camera remember these? The lens is spot on, but soft with 1.4XTC. In other words, will the camera know which lens is attached to the TC?
thanks,
John
