Hi... Next week i'll have a trip, and some days I think about buying a telezoom.. I own 500D, and mainly will use it for video, sometimes for portraits maybe (actually I own sigma 50/1.4 for this).... I am a pupil, so I don't have much money at the moment.. I found some offerings in my town which fit my budget... What would u suggest (please only from these ones).?

Tamron 55-200/4-5.6.. Impressed me after watching this (external link), especially portraits (I understand the most important there is lighting, but bokeh and sharpness are quite good).

Canon 70-210/3.5-4.5 USM
.. Only found some positive feedbacks and quite few samples.. Is it better than Tamron in terms of image quality, is it worth to pay more for Tamron?? (I found this canon for 60$)...

Canon 75-300/4-5.6 III USM . As I understood it has worse image quality than previous two, but is longer and cheapest (50$)....
I need to decide today.. So, please HELP ME!!!

None of the above. Canon 55-250IS. If you had to choose from the list, not the last one.

Why not get the Canon 55-250 instead? You'll get a big more range, and IS. You'll likely find the IS really valuable at the tele end.

I believe this is both discontinued and also lacks IS.

The 75-300 doesn't get much love. You often see them bundled into retailer kits, which are filled with stuff they can't otherwise get anyone to buy. The 70-300 is better, but more expensive.

Really, the Canon 55-250 is the no-brainer for you. You can generally find them used in the $200 range.

I'll just say this now so we can get it out of the way so everyone doesn't have to say it (which they probably still will), whatever you do DON'T get the 75-300mm!!!!! Run while you can! :p Take a look at the Canon 55-250mm IS. Almost always recommended for telephotos on a budget. Best bang for your buck.

You can always rent as well, but the Canon 55-250 is a great option at a low price point as Zelseman noted.

Save your money and rent or borrow a lens if its just for one trip.

Highly agree.

If you MUST get one of the three, avoid the 75-300.

However, the best move is probably to avoid all three, save your money and buy a Canon 55-250IS when you have enough.
