Found this thread after a search and wondered if any others are still having this problem or have had it resolved? I too bought a 5D MKII last week and have had this issue several times since.

I've even had it where it wouldn't let me change the aperture or shutter speed for a few seconds, just a blinking -2ev in the meter.
