I am considering buying the Manfrotto 055XPROB Tripod Legs. I do not really want to spend more than $150 for a Ball Head for it. I have looked at the 498RC2, and the Induro BHD0. Anybody care to tell me there thoughts on either of these or any other brand? Thank you :)

498RC2 is nice, my ONLY complaint is that they use their own Manfrotto specific mounting system.

I REALLY like the Photo Clam line as the price is right, seems to have good feedback from the people that use them and they use a more universal mounting system.

Are you saying that a Manfrotto Tripod legs will only accept a Manfrotto Ball Head?

No, just the attachment plate. The one that screws to the bottom of the camera/lens.

Oh, I see. Thank you very much. Those Photo Clam ones look nice too.

I was having this debate last week myself, I looked at the induro and tried it out in store but I didn't like the size of the knobs. I didn't really like the feel of the manfrotto 498rc2 either. I looked at the cullmann magnesit, markins q3 and the vanguard abh line. I ended up ordering the vanguard from ebay... Hopefully ill have it by next week so at that point ill know if I made the right decision.
