In all honesty I've never fired it up in a club. It's one of those things you often don't have time to worry about.

I'm not normally a fan of light trails because many people get the exposure and focus wrong, but spikeystitch executed it flawlessly. That's how it should be done.

Last night. Flash was running a little hot overexposing my pics. I tried moving off camera and with a remote trigger but had difficulties composing without overexposing. Will take a little practice.

Mardi Gras

Shot with the 5D and 24-70. I usually use the 17-35 but wasn't sure if it would be enough for that night. It was nice having the extra reach and DOF options for some detail shots, but the 17-35 is the way to go.

Lately I've been experimenting with a 2 flash set up, wide angle, zoom, 1 flash off camera, wide aperture narrow aperture, you name it, I've been trying it the past month. but I haven't really been too happy with the results.

so tonight I went back to basics.

nifty 50 mkII
5d mkII
430exII (on camera, naked)

and I must say, I loved the results.normally I would say 50mm is far too narrow for the nightclubs, but honestly on full frame its manageable its not a setup I could do in all the clubs I work in, one of the clubs I cover 2 nights a week, has RED ceilings and RED walls... disaster for bouncing... but anyway
