Pink and/or red are friggin' horrible to shoot with. It's normal for clubs around here to have some sort of red lighting for the DJ's constantly on, it's a pain

LEDs cause me huge issues from time to time when the beam is very narrow and uneven..

You usually get awkward arrangements like this when someone doesn't want to comply with your instructions. When photographing drunken people, you will often encounter huge egos - people who feel like you are taking their power away from them when you ask them to stand in such a way as to create a half-decent composition. I had one of these on Saturday and deleted the picture; not out of spite, but because it was chaff. I'll take some CC on the above 3 shots if you care to 1D Mk III, 1D Mk IV, 16-35 2.8, 15mm 2.8, 70-200 2.8 II, 2 x 580EX

I look at gear lists but don't normally see bags. Well your bag can only go as flat as the gear you have in it. R3 | R6 II | 8-15L | 15-35L 2.8 | 28-70L F2 | 85L 1.2 | 70-200L 2.8

Spend 20 dollars and valet your car, you get out right in front of the club and usually the bouncers. No bag no worries. Miami's streets aren't that bad. Just keep your head on straight and you'll do fine. That being said, yeah, hide your kit once leaving the venue. My stuff

The first shot would've been better if you didn't allow the selected autofocus point to dictate your framing. Press the shutter in half way until you hear a bleep. With focus locked, move the camera to frame the object of your desired focus. #4: Same as above. thank you for point it out! been wonder why some pics came out good while others did not. would shooting in manual work better? usually i shoot 2-3 people, only 10% for group shots. would manual focus keep everyone in 1 roll focus? #6: Focus was locked in on the guy behind the couple, causing them to be out of focus. Look at how their eyes appear soft in this. ya i see it now after look photo on larger size #8: This kind of picture never makes it home with me on the memory card. I had one of these on Saturday and deleted the picture; not out of spite, but because it was chaff. ill have to flip through the whole thread get some more ideas, yes it was a wild party, everyone just want to jump in the pics lol My final suggestion would be to get a bounce card or a Stofen. You can DIY these yourself if you want to save money on what is essentially glorified cardboard cut outs and plastic. i actually made one out of foam paper thing, but i believe the ceiling was too low and flash was too bright. need more practice with it Oh, and never waste your money on Gary Fong products. There are various videos on YouTube where he attempts to (and rather convincingly) fool his audience into believing that his products allow you to gather more light - but not before he uses the old conjurer's trick of sabotaging his non-Fong accessoried shots. actually almost ordered one lol, i guess ill stick with my foam card, it works for being free! It has enough room to carry 2-3 lenses, my flash as well as business cards, AA's, memory cards and my ear plugs with tons of room left. It was a really good investment. For festivals, multi day events and going on tour with artists, I've picked up a kata 3n1. flickr

May 25, 2011 07:39 | #1785 I take my Tamrac Adventure Pack 6 with me to the club.. I also have a place to lock it up so it makes it easier to take additional equipment with me. For home storage and photoshoots I have a Lowepro Pro Runner 350 AW. I'm thinking about getting a pouch or small shoulder bag on nights where I don't feel like carrying the Tamrac with me. -Chris
